The Captain Cook Brewery has worked out of the yard behind The White Swan since 1999, named after Captain James Cook, raised just up the road in Great Ayton. It's the reason our beer travels metres, not miles, to reach the bar.

We're a wet-led pub, no kitchen, no food, no bring-your-own. Just a proper cellar, kept well, and a bar that's all about the beer.

- Open Mic. Bring an instrument or just your voice. From 8.30pm.
- Quiz Night. Test your team against the regulars. From 8.30pm.
- Live Music Thursdays. Real bands in the bar, every Thursday from 9pm. No tickets, no fuss – just turn up.
Good to Know
- Yes, we are dog-friendly. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome, many of our regulars have four legs and a favourite spot by the fire.
- Children are welcome until 5pm. After that The White Swan is an over-18s pub, focused on real ale and good company.
- No need, we're a walk-in pub and don't take bookings. Just turn up, find a seat and head to the bar.
- We don't have a kitchen, so we don't serve meals, our focus is entirely on serving the perfect pint, great local ales, and a fantastic selection of drinks! If you're peckish, there are some lovely places to eat a short walk away in the centre of Stokesley.
