We want everyone to be able to read this website and find their way to the pub. This statement is provided voluntarily - we are a small business, but that is no reason not to try to get it right. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What the site does to help

• Proper headings and page structure, so screen readers can move around the page.
• The menu works with a keyboard, and the mobile menu closes with the Escape key or a tap outside it.
• Photographs carry text descriptions.
• Text and background colours are chosen for contrast, and text scales if you enlarge it in your browser.
• The layout adapts to phones, tablets and desktops, with no sideways scrolling.
• Nothing moves, flashes or plays sound on its own.

Known limitations

• The Google map. The embedded map is Google's own product and its keyboard and screen-reader behaviour is outside our control. Our address, phone number and a directions link are always provided as plain text alongside it, so the map is never the only way to find us.
• Decorative images and icons. A few images and small icons are decorative; we are working through them to make sure each is either described or hidden from screen readers.
• The site has not yet had a formal accessibility audit by an external specialist. This statement is based on our own testing.
